Our All Black refillable cartridge kit combined with the Canon Pixma Pro-100 is the perfect way to print screen separation films up to 13” wide. The Pixma Pixma Pro-100 is a high quality device that is simple to use and easy to maintain, and produces great quality screen separations when set up with our Absolute Black inks.

The refillable cartridge kit for the Pixma Pro-100 comes with two complete sets of refillable cartridges so that you always have a spare set of cartridges ready to use. The cartridges have auto reset ink level monitoring chips that reset to full each time a cartridge is refilled with ink. Refilling of the cartridges is simple and the kit includes an 8 oz bottle of i2i Absolute Black ink for Canon ink – enough ink to refill 20 cartridges. The kit comes with full instructions on how to set up and run the printer. Compared to competitive refillable cartridge products, our kit comes with twice as much ink as well as twice as many cartridges at the same price.

How do I set up and use the printer for screen separation printing?

Firstly, install Absolute Black ink in every cartridge. The inks can be installed on a new printer or an existing machine that already been set up with color inks – simply run a three or four cleaning cycles to clear out the old inks. The standard Canon driver software can be used to run all black inks by setting the print mode to color, and then increasing the C, M, and Y levels in the advanced color settings to get the most dense print.

Why use Canon printers for screen separation printing?

Until now, the printer brand of choice for screen separation applications has been Epson. However, recent Epson printer models suffer from a much shorter print head life compared to older machines. On average, print heads often fail within three years on new Epson models and the cost of head replacement can run to more than the cost of the original machine. With Canon printers, the print head is user replaceable at a fraction of this cost and takes less than five minutes – replacement print heads simply clip into place. The latest Canon models suitable for screen positive printing have a comparable print resolution and speed, and a lower purchase price.

Once you have purchased a printer, you will need our refillable cartridge kit for the Canon Pixma Pro-100 below. The kit comes with two full sets of refillable cartridges, an 8 oz bottle of i2i Absolute Black in for Canon, all necessary refilling accessories, full instructions, and sample pack of our high quality 5 mil Absolute Film for making screen separations.
