Epson Photo 1400/Artisan 1430
Refillable cartridge kits for the Epson Photo 1400 and Artisan 1430. Kits are offered with two different ink configurations. Firstly, we supply a kit that includes a large bottle of our special Absolute Black ink for making screen separations. This kit is designed for ‘all black’ printing where every cartridge is filled with black ink – this is the most popular ink set up where a printer is dedicated to screen separation printing and images can be printed directly from Illustrator or Photoshop using the standard Epson driver software. Secondly is a kit that includes a bottle of Absolute Black along with a bottle of Absolute Clear. This kit is for people who have RIP software that can control which ink channels are used for printing - Absolute Black is installed in the active printing cartridges and Absolute Clear is installed in the non-active cartridges.
Using bulk ink and refillable cartridges is extremely cost effective and saves over 70% compared to original cartridges.
Note: If you using the original dye Epson inks in the Photo 1400 or Artisan 1430 then the printer does not need flushing out before installing Absolute Black or Clear inks. Simply fill and install our refillable cartridges and run four or five cleaning cycles to prime the print head with the new inks. If your printer is running an ink type other than the Epson original inks, we recommend buying a 4 oz bottle of our Dead Head cleaning fluid to run through the printer prior to installing Absolute Black for the first time. The cleaning fluid is filled into all cartridges and is run through the print heads to flush out the current inks. The cartridges are then removed, drained of cleaning fluid, and refilled with ink ready for printing. If a customer wants to have a separate set of cartridges just for cleaning, then these can be found under our ‘Spare parts’ category. Dead Head fluid can be found under ‘Cleaning cartridges and fluids’ category.
