Absolute Black Ink Cartridges
Single use 220 ml capacity cartridges for the Epson Pro 4880 filled with Absolute Black inks for printing screen separations. Absolute Black ink has superior light blocking characteristics, is more scratch resistant, and will print faster when compared to the original inks.
Absolute Black inks are mixable with Epson original black inks so cartridges can be installed in the black channels of a printer without flushing first. We recommend that an initial fill routine or two power cleans are performed when installing Absolute Black for the first time to ensure that you are not printing with a mixture of black inks. If you are installing Absolute Black inks on a brand new machine that has never seen inks before then no flushing out is required before installation - just install the carridges and let the machine run it's initial fill routine. However, Absolute Black inks are not mixable with regular Epson color inks and, if you intend to run Absolute Black in any channels other than black on a used printer, then we strongly recommend flushing with cleaning fluid before installation. Please note: Non-original or re-manufactured cartridges for Epson Pro x880 series printers do not always display ink levels on the machine control panel or in the ink monitor software. This is due to a firmware setting installed by Epson that enables the printer to detect non-original cartridges. This setting prevents ink levels from being displayed and requires the user to 'accept' warnings about non-original inks when they are installed. However, Ink levels are actually monitored by the printer and the printer will stop printing when a cartridge runs empty, so non-original cartridges can still happily be used. This firmware setting was installed to deter people from using non-original inks and was subsequently removed from newer printer models.
